Omegle.com has a new owner and a new promise: "Omegle is launching soon." So is Omegle coming back? On 17 September 2026 we checked the domain record and the code the page loads, and found more than a teaser.
The short answer
Is Omegle coming back? Something wearing the name is, but it isn't the site people remember. The omegle.com domain changed hands in May 2026 and now shows a launch teaser. No launch date, team or safety policy has been published, and the original founder shut his site down for good in November 2023.
What we can verify
- A new owner. The public WHOIS record, last updated 22 May 2026, lists RC Tech America Inc. as registrant, with Gandi as registrar. You can check it yourself on ICANN Lookup.
- A teaser, not a service. Visiting the site today still shows "Omegle is launching soon" above a line about meeting new people and staying safe.
- Nothing about who runs it. The page names no team, gives no launch date, and links to no terms or privacy policy.
Inside the code the page already loads
The teaser sits on top of a full web app, and its code is served to every visitor. It includes sign-in with Google, Apple or Facebook, an 18+ age verification step, gender selection, random video chat and live streaming rooms.
It also contains a paid PLUS subscription with gender filters, a coin store, and an option to lift a ban by paying a fee. One rules screen still greets users with "Welcome to OmegleWeb.io," the name of a separate Omegle-branded site registered in January 2024.
None of that has launched, and code can change before release. But it reads much more like today's account-based, freemium chat apps than the free, no-login site that shut down.
Is Omegle coming back the way it was?
No. Leif K-Brooks closed Omegle on 8 November 2023, saying the fight against misuse had become unsustainable, financially and psychologically. Whatever launches will be a different company's product under a famous name, with no track record of its own.

Before you trust any "new Omegle"
A familiar logo tells you nothing about who is on the other side of the camera. Check these first:
- A named company in the terms and privacy policy, with a way to contact it.
- A published safety process explaining how reports are handled and how quickly.
- Straight pricing that tells you what's paid before you're asked for money.
- The real address. Lookalike Omegle sites have been around since the shutdown, so read the URL.
- Data rules stating whether chats, video or verification selfies are stored.
Where that leaves you
